As many have already pointed out, Toyota seems to have played it safe, despite the fact that the redesign appears so radical.

One of the most noticeable changes is the interior, which now has a much richer feel to it, along with a much larger trunk and new folding seats for additional cargo space. On the flipside however, the new low-resistance tires designed to maximize fuel economy offer a less than inspiring experience when accelerating or cornering.

On the positive side however, the fuel economy has indeed be increased. As of now, the official ratings for the new Camry are 25 MPG for city driving and 35 MPG for highways, up from 22 and 32 respectively. The V6 is also up to 21 and 30 MPG for city and highway driving. Combined fuel usage therefore now equates to 28 MPG for the standard four-cylinder version of the Camry, while the V6 measures in at 25 MPG.

The Camry has been Toyota’s most incredible success story in the US to date, therefore it is not surprising that they would have chosen to make the changes noticeable, while at all time remaining with a formula they know to be bucketful.
