4G LTE Samsung Stratosphere (Galaxy S2) Verizon Release Date
Although the talk of the town this week will undoubtedly be the much-hyped Apple iPhone 4S in all its glory, this is by no means stopping Verizon Wireless launching another epic device, with the 4G LTE Samsung Stratosphere arriving the very day before.
One of the biggest faults many have already pointed out with the iPhone 4S is its lack of a 4G chipset, preventing it from running on the fastest data networks currently operating in the US. As such loyal followers of Android will at least in this instance have something clearly in advantage over their iPhone cousins, which is the ability to enjoy 4G LTE data speeds while their counterparts remain with 3G speeds.
Nevertheless, the iPhone 4S is guaranteed to be an enormous seller, with reports having already suggested that over 200,000 unit have moved by way or presales since Friday on AT&T alone. It is therefore expected that similar numbers will have been sold by Sprint and Verizon as well.
Still, for those not in the market for an iPhone 4S, the Samsung Stratosphere may well make the perfect alternative. Specs may not quite be on par with the Samsung Galaxy S2, but the Stratosphere is still a beast in its own right, with a 1GHz processor, 512MB of dedicated RAM, 4GB of onboard storage and 5 megapixel camera.
The standout feature is the full QWERTY keyboard, which is still highly revered by millions over the touchscreen alternative option.
Needless to say, all devices are set to have the fights of their lives on their hands, with the Motorola Droid Bionic, the Samsung Nexus Prime and of course the iPhone 4S all set to receive a huge level of interest over the coming weeks.
