Air Slovakia faces bankruptcy

After the bankruptcies of air carriers, SkyEurope and Seagle Air, the next victim is going to be Air Slovakia.

Slovakian Ministry of Transport announced in March that they are going to revoke the operating license from Air Slovakia which airline has mainly specialized for charter flights.

The company could have appealed till Monday, but they didn’t take advantage of this option. The Slovakian media previously reported, that the company isn’t capable to pay back its several million debts to the social security and to business partners. Moreover police investigations started against the staff because of illegal wage payments.

Slovakian newspapers reported that Air Slovakia has already filed for bankruptcy.

The Slovakian Ministry of Transport has revoked operating license from other airlines like SkyEurope and Seagle Air in late 2009.

In March 2007 Air Slovakia has benefited from the fact that his rival, the Slovak Airlines went bankrupt.
