Al-Qaida lost its Afghan leader

The international terrorist organization, al-Qaida has announced the death of its Afghan commander on Tuesday.

The Egyptian-born Mustafa Abu al-Yazid – who was one of the founder of Osama bin Ladens terrorist organization – has died in Afghanistan, reported the SITE american centre, which monitors Islamist websites. Al-Yazid led al-Qaida’s Afghan organization since 2007.

According to SITE, the monitored website didn’t get into details regarding the circumstances around the death of al-Yazid, but al-Qaida has announced that the Afghan “operations” chief’s wife, their three daughters, their grandchildren and other men, women and children died as well.

Al-Yazid was responsible for finances at Al-Qaida and he played a major role of the 9/11 tragedy: before September 11, he chanelled a huge amount of money to Mohammed Atta, the leader of the hijackers.

Yasser al-Sirri, the head of UK based Islamic Observatory claimed that al-Yazid was 54 years old, he rather dealt with management and business tasks at al-Qaida. He was one of Bin Laden’s trusted partner.
