Alonso dominated free practices in Monaco
Ferrari’s two time world champion driver, Fernando Alonso was the fastest on Thursday in both free practice sessions of the Monaco Grand Prix. In the first practice Alonso dominated the session and won the training before Red Bull star Vettel and Renaults talent Kubica, just like in second practice where he topped the aspiring Rosberg and Vettel.
Only four days have passed since the last race held in Barcelona and now F1 has headed to Monaco to bring you the 6th GP of the year. On friday traditionally there isn’t any practice in Monaco, that’s why the teams had the trainings one day before.
In the first stage, Alonso was the fastest, followed by Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica.
The reigning world champion and current championship leader Jenson Button (McLaren) has finished 8th place, while 41 years old 7th time world champion Michael Schumacher (Mercedes GP) reached 6th position.
The next session appeared to be very similar to the first: Alonso has further improved his lap time, Rosberg gained the second place and Vettel became third, while Schumacher reached 5th and Kubica took the 6th place this time.
It’s remarkable that Alonso’s second session lap time (1:14.904) is almost equal to Jenson Button’s pole position lap time from last year.
