Apple to Introduce HD Display, LTE to iPad 3 Users?
With the speculated release of the Apple iPad 3 fast approaching, rumors surrounding the Cupertino, CA electronics giant’s plans for the new tablet are spreading like wildfire.
One such rumor is the release date – many have been published, but most seem to agree on a March projection. Another one of these rumors is centered on the expected features of the iPad 3, which include long-term evolution (LTE) technology and a high-definition display.
Production and development of the iPad 3 will intensify in the coming month after starting just a few weeks ago, according to sources at Apple. The HD screen is expected to rival those found on your average HD television with a vastly-improved resolution over the iPad 2.
Under-the-hood specs shall include a quad-core processor designed for seamless transition between applications. However, the most anticipated new feature is expected to be the LTE wireless connection, which is being pioneered stateside by AT&T and Verizon, allowing users with unbridled speed and data connectivity.
The sources refused to be identified as Apple has yet to publicly reveal plans for the new device.
Apple didn’t clarify the above rumors, staying true to their tradition of focusing on their products rather than the hearsay surrounding them. However, they stated that the new iPad may be a potential be-all and end-all of tablet computers, effectively silencing the competition, which includes fast-rising models such as the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Both Apple’s iPhone and iPad have been major revenue generators for the company, with over 40 million iPads sold since the tablet’s introduction in 2010.
