Former coach of the Argentinian national football team, Diego Maradona has stated, he doesn’t quite understand why Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez was left out from the national squad which prepares for the upcoming Copa America.
The 50-year-old football legend – who won the World Cup in 1986 as a player and coached the Argentinian national team between 2008 and 2010 – has told the national television that Tevez is indispensable for the team. He added, that current coach Sergio Batista probably wants to punish the 27-year-old striker this way, because he missed a friendly clash against Brazil last year held in Qatar. Back then Tevez pled for injury, however a few days later, he played a match for Manchester City.
According to Batista, he has no personal problems with Tevez, but he rather counts on forwards Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain.
