ASUS Transformer Prime Gets Ice Cream Sandwich FOTA Update
ASUS has officially rolled its promised Ice Cream Sandwich to its Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 tablet.
It has only been a month since the tablet was sent out that the update finally came along. The TF201 was first shipped with the Honeycomb version of the Android platform. Ahead of its announced date that was supposed to be the 12th of January, the FOTA update flew off early.
Initial reactions regarding the tablet firmware update was quite favourable. In fact, some have expressed that the tablet even worked better after the upgrade.
It can be remembered that the tablet faced quite a few issues upon its release. First, it was subjected to quite a delay in its launching that led many customers dismayed.
Furthermore, it was plagued with complaints about its GPS feature being faulty and its locked bootloader disabling any customization or any tinkering from individuals of the modding community.
Nevertheless, the Transformer Prime TF201 is hailed as one of the best tablets in the market to date. It is the first to herald the powerful NVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor and is transformable into a laptop via its mobile dock.
