Asus Transformer Prime US Release Approaches
The long wait may indeed be over. Asus has given the go that as far as the company is concerned, the much-awaited Transformer Prime will be shipped out to the United States right on schedule early next week. Note that the product’s debut was subject to potential delay owing to Wi-Fi issues.
As the first ever tablet to run a quad-core processor, the Asus Transformer Prime has been catching the eyes and ears of the technology market ever since it was rumored to be launched. Now, there’s another buzz on the grapevine that the tablet will no longer be utilizing Honeycomb and an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich may well be just around the corner.
The Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest incarnation of Android and if the rumors speak true, the Transformer Prime may be up and running on Android 4.0 by the early quarter of 2012.
Test-product reviews of the Transformer Prime running on Honeycomb have shown a thumbs-up, which may be the reason why Asus is contemplating an upgrade and toting out a device which can literally “transform” into a laptop using a keyboard dock.
Still, nothing in this world is really perfect. This goes true for the Transformer Prime which sporting a 32GB Wi-Fi among other specs. The device is estimated to cost around £550. Nevertheless, those who purchase the product will get a full notebook-tablet hybrid thanks to the keyboard dock.
