ASUS Transformer Prime US Release to Be Delayed
ASUS Transformer Prime has been the subject of certain rumours today. It is said that ASUS is delaying the release of the new tablet which was rumoured to finally become the rival to Apple’s iPad.
According to reports, prior hands-on test conducted on the tablet provided positive reviews. The tech was said to be slick. This find is somewhat unsurprising since the previous variant of this make has had a fair share of cult following what with it being one of the better performing Android tablets on the market.
However, Transformer Prime was rumoured to be arriving at a later date since ASUS was said to be straightening out issues with the Wifi troubles the tablet had on its hardware.
Contrary to reports, particularly good news came out this weekend. ASUS announced that the Transformer Prime is indeed expected to be shipped out in the US just in time for Christmas this year.
In the UK, it is expected on a much later January release in the coming year. In fact, pre-orders are already available at Cloves for a retail price of £550 – a far cry from iPad 2’s price.
It will be interesting to see how Transformer Prime will fare in the tablet market. All though sporting incredible specs, it still remains to be seen if non-techies, considering its heavy appearance, will opt for it.
A less competitive price and the upcoming iPad 3 making a rumoured debut earlier next year; will Transformer Prime be able to roll out great?
