nokia lumia 800 851 AT&T Set to Introduce Nokia Lumia 900 with LTEAmerican telecommunications power AT&T has announced they shall be carrying the Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone, the first of its kind for the Finnish manufacturer to feature Long-Term Evolution.

The Lumia 900 was officially introduced to American tech observers this week at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas. Among its many features include a 4.3-inch screen and a sophisticated front and rear camera.

The handset’s design hasn’t changed much from its predecessor, the Lumia 800. This phone has been hailed as a potential game-changer for both Nokia and Microsoft. Nokia has steadily been losing its share of the world mobile phone market, while American consumers have not been receptive to the Windows Phone as compared to other platforms such as Google’s Android and Apple’s iOs.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop expressed hopes that the Lumia 900 would be a great opportunity to showcase Microsoft’s new Windows mobile phone OS. He also mentioned that Windows’ ecosystem is meant to be greater than the sum of its applications, something that would hopefully be manifested through the new handset.

The upcoming release of the Lumia 900 has underscored the importance of LTE in the competitiveness of a smartphone in the ever-crowded market. Android-based smartphones are now making greater use of LTE, and as Windows jumps on the bandwagon, Microsoft is hoping this could inspire more than a few consumers to give the Windows Phone a try.

There has yet to be any definitive information reported on the Nokia Lumia 900’s date of release and suggested retail price.
