AT&T Vs Sprint Nextel in Samsung Galaxy S2 Showdown

htc amaze big 200x300 AT&T Vs Sprint Nextel in Samsung Galaxy S2 ShowdownPatience was recently and arguably richly rewarded in the US, by way of the release of not ne, but two iterations of the Samsung Galaxy S2 to choose from, running on either GSM or CDMA. The AT&T version formally arrived as recently as last Sunday, with a price tag of $199 alongside a two-year contract which is of course identical to that of the Sprint version of the device. So, aside from actual carrier preference, what exactly sets the two apart?

Well, firstly the Sprint S2 offers a slightly larger battery, which weighs in at 1800mAh compared to the 1650mAh of AT&T. That being said, this is in fact to accommodate the slightly larger screen of the Spring version, which measures in at 4.52 inches rather than AT&T’s 4.3 inches.

Speaking of the screen, the larger size would be looked upon by most as a bonus of course, but as the resolution has been kept the same for both devices, the AT&T S2 technically has a crisper, clearer viewing experience than Sprint.

Near Field Communication (NFC) is something of a hidden gem for the AT&T S2, as there is currently no word as to when or whether owners of the device will be privy to a software update to activate the technology.

NFC or Near Field Communication is the hidden feature of the AT&T Galaxy S II. No word yet from the wireless carrier if their S2 will get a software update soon that will activate the wireless technology. Either way, the Sprint S2 does not offer NFC.

Minor differences across the board and the list indeed continues to include negligible design and weight examples, though it has to be said that unless buyers are really willing to nit-pick right down to the last detail, there really is not right or wrong choice – they are both simply superb.
