google nexus prime2 256x300 Best Buy Lists Samsung Galaxy Nexus ‘Prime’ in December CatalogueUK and European consumers recently got something of an early Christmas present, by way of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus which saw its official release date ahead of the US. In fact, with no official word yet to be offered directly from the proverbial horse’s mouth, US customers still have very little to go on, other than the fact that one way or the other the Nexus will be landing soon – however soon ‘soon’ turns out to be.

However, the rumors are still coming about thick and fast and it appears that Best Buy may be the latest to have let a rather large cat out of the bag, with their December catalogue listing none other than the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime. Prime? It would appear so, which would suggest that Samsung and Verizon have gone about some considerable changes to the Nexus at the very last minute, rebranding it with what we must assume to be the exclusive Verizon handle.

So, as of now we almost officially know that Verizon will be retailing the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime at some point in September.

True, a new name is not exactly the news the more anxious and impatient masses will have been waiting for, but there is denying that the name is a rather attractive one. And of course, even a modest bone to chew on is far better than nothing while we wait for the ICS-toting leviathan to finally make its way onto home soil.
