BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 Launches on T-Mobile – But at What Price?
Devotees of BlackBerry and the T-Mobile network have reason to celebrate, as the long awaited BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 has finally seen its official release. The new device, dubbed the latest and indeed the greatest to be offered by RIM in quite some, offers both a touchscreen and physical keyboard for a price of $299.99, alongside a 24 month contract and following a mail rebate.
As such, those looking to make a purchase of the new Bold 9900 must be willing to part with just shy of $400 right off the bat, whereas those in favor of contract-free freedom will need to stump up $600, along with all applicable taxes.
This makes the new Bold 9900 officially the most expensive handset currently offered by T-Mobile, which is certainly a bold move on the part of both companies…if you’ll pardon the rather apt pun. While the device itself is indeed an impressive specimen, is it really enough to justify a cost which essentially should make the 9900 the very best T-Mobile handset available?
Well, in the eyes of ardent BlackBerry supporters this might be the case, but with a range of dual-core sporting droids available for much lower prices, it seems very unlikely that this will be the device to sway floating voters from other camps.
