BlackBerry Torch 2 BlackBerry Torch 2 9850 Confirmed for Verizon LaunchRumors have been doing the rounds for quite some time now, though have at long last been made official. Verizon has finally confirmed that the long awaited all-touch BlackBerry Torch 9850 will be arriving on their network, either via the website as of now or in the stores themselves from the 15th. That is indeed really all there is to the matter by way of news, aside from the inclusion of a free 16GB microSD card.

The new Torch will be made available for a price of $199.99 alongside the usual two year data plan, which will add around $30+ onto the minimum $39.99 talk plan.

BlackBerry have been vigorously marketing their new offering, citing the torch 9850 as the device sporting their largest screen and very best resolution to date. The hardware supplied will be powering BlackBerry 7 OS, which is said to being next generation browsing experiences including optimized zooming, panning and HTML 5 performance.

Such marks the latest in a long line of BlackBerry products expected for the second half of 2011, as the Canadian manufacturer makes every attempt to climb out of a rut seen throughout most of the year so far. Share prices and general investor confidence are still low, but early indications point to optimistic results for the new Torch 9850, which could indeed be the shape of things to come for RIM.
