Earth is younger than it was previously thought
A new research showed that the Earth is younger than it was previously thought: Earth is as old as the Moon.
Till now researches assumed that the Earth was arisen 4,53 bilion years ago, however according to the results of the new research the Earth is “only” about 4,51-4,44 billion years old. “Our investigations show that the Earth is 20-90 million years younger, that it was previously assumed” – said Thorsten Kleine, researcher of Münster Mineralogy Institute.
The group consists of researchers from the Münster and Camdrige University plus scientists from the Zurich Polytechnich have investigated traces of clashes between the newly formed Earth and other celestial bodies.
Kleine emphasized that the Earth’s “new” age is equal with Moon’s. Previous age defining proceedings, didn’t take into consideration that all those celestial bodies left their mark on the Earth, from what our planet was created” – explained the professor.
Researches have studied the degradation process of tungsten in order to determine the the core of the Earth.
