Google TV to Be Unveiled by LG This Year

Consumers and analysts alike are all excited over the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held next week.

One of the most anticipated of the new products to be presented is the LG Google TV, the first of its kind for the Korean manufacturer to feature the search engine giant’s unique innovations.

Based on early reports, the LG Google TV is a blend of both LG and Google features in one appliance. The television’s features include an LCD screen, LG’s Cinema 3D and Smart TV interface and Magic Motion remote control. The remote is noteworthy for its own built-in microphone and QWERTY keyboard.

This marks the first new Google TV for 2012, and if everything falls in place, it will follow the Sony GT1 as the second-ever Google TV. Unlike the inexpensive GT1, it is expected that LG’s television will come at a higher price tag given its wide range of special features. As would be the case for other TVs with their brand name, Google is now suggesting the Marvell chipset as the best option for users.

As of now, there isn’t much information regarding screen size. But another feature connected to the above mentioned Cinema 3D feature would be the ability to convert 2D pictures to 3D, a very useful feature for those who want the most out of their movie-viewing experience.

Moreover, users can check their Facebook accounts, run a search on Google and watch their favorite TV programs at the same time.

Despite the lack of specifics and actual pictures of the LG model, this is a promising development for Google TV following its much-documented struggles in the past year.
