Growing Interest in iPhone 5 from Consumers Worldwide
Two separate studies have indicated that more and more consumers across America and the UK are developing a higher level of interest in the upcoming iPhone 5 from Apple, at the expense of other popular rival platforms including Android from Google.
One of the studies carried out has revealed that no less than 41% of mobile phone users across the US, Canada and Mexico would like to switch to the iPhone 5 in the future. Of all those who expressed interest, 50% said that they had every intention of purchasing one within the first six months following launch.
Furthermore, the same study goes on to suggest that interest from consumers would be highly diluted if the newly released iPhone materialized as something of a soft update, rather than a fully new device. Should an upgrade be on the cards, at least 15% fewer said that they would be interested in buying the device.
Apple have this week sent out the invites for their iPhone discussion event on October 4th, which indeed seems to correlate with the speculative launch window and timeframe the rumor mill has been discussing for quite some time now.
At this stage however it remains anybody’s guess as to exactly how many iPhones will be discussed for launch, which could be one in the case of the iPhone 5, two if joined by a lower end iPhone 4S, or perhaps even none if Apple decides to once again hurl out another curveball.
