Habs eliminate Pittsburgh in crucial Game 7

The Habs have knocked off defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in crucial game 7 and now they are qualified into NHL Eastern Conference Finals.

The Canadian team will appear again in conference finals nearly after 20 years, where they will meet the Philadelphia Flyers who made a historical comeback from a 0-3 deficit against the Boston Bruins and beat them 4 times in a row to clinch Eastern Conference Finals berth.

After beating league’s best Washington Capitals in previous round, Montreal continued its stellar performance against Pittsburgh and beat the Pens 5-2 in game 7. Brian Gionta scored 2 goals in power play, Mike Cammalleri scored seventh time in the series and Slovakian goaltender Jaroslav Halak contributed 37 saves to come over the defending champions at their home.

NHL Eastern Conference Semi Finals Game 7:

Pittsburgh Penguins – Montreal Canadiens 2-5
Montreal won the series 4-3

Boston Bruins – Philadelphia Flyers 3-4
Philadelphia won the series 4-3
