iPad 2 to Face Strong Competition
Since the launch of the second generation iPad, the market has been on an entirely different trend. Tablets of different makes have come forth providing more options for consumers. Even Apple has a rumoured much-better product coming out next year for exactly the same rumoured price.
On an unexpected turn, Amazon’s Kindle Fire has been eating up a significant part of the market pie. Coasting along the lower-end of the tablet spectrum, it still managed to sneak up against the better equipped iPad 2 with its bargain price of $200 as compared to the latter’s. It actually makes sense since Kindle Fire provides the same basic functions of a personal tablet like internet browsing, reading, gaming, etc.
Recent news also have it going about a $100-tagged tablet is on the offing next year. The Novo7 is expected to help cut the iPad’s pricing soon enough especially with ASUS launching its new Transformer Series tablet as well.
However, it can be noted that Apple manifested a good business decision with its iPhone line. It continued to sell its older smartphone models at a much cheaper price. Through that, it was able to satisfy and maintain its market share by providing more affordable products to its patrons who wanted a part of it.
Perhaps, that very same model can be emulated with the iPad line as well what with the clamour it’s been getting nowadays.
