ipad6 iPad 3 Slated for March Release, February Sneak PeekThe buzz is growing louder and louder. More sources than ever before are throwing potential release dates around for the Apple iPad 3.

Most of these sources are expecting the new iPad to be out in March, and as per this latest report, a “special event” is set to be conducted by Apple to give observers a preview of their upcoming tablet.

Macotakara, an Apple blog site based in Japan, mentioned sources from the United States and Asia alike as the parties behind this latest rumor. The event is said to take place early next month, with the actual launch to be scheduled for March.

The longer-than-usual gap between preview and release date has been traced to the Chinese New Year celebration. As Apple has operations based in Taiwan, a few days of work will be missed in observation of this holiday.

What’s definite thus far is that Apple will hold an event next week, with the iBookstore and iTunes campaigns said to be the main talking points. There are no new products expected to be launched or even previewed.

Going back to the above speculation, Macotokara is not the only site to make such a report. Bloomberg posted a similar report last week, stating a March release date and also citing sources close to Apple for the information.

If the supposed launch of the iPad 3 does fall in March, this may alter the release schedule of future iPads. Observers believe this might take a toll on Black Friday and Christmas sales, as consumers may decide not to purchase a device so late in the year when it may become obsolete early the next.
