iPad 3 to Feature High-resolution Display, LTE Support
Recent reports stated that the upcoming iPad will showcase a high-definition screen display, a faster processor and support for next generation data networks.
The tablet is set for an outstanding screen resolution. Reports have placed it at 2048×1536 pixel resolution that puts even laptop models to shame.
Another development comes with a speedier processor incorporated into the said device. The A5 chip that was present in the previous iPad will be replaced with an appropriately-named A6 quad-core processor.
The iPad 3 is also said to be the first Apple product to come out with support for both 3G and LTE networks. It can be seen that Apple is looking to provide faster data access to its customers by taking advantage of Verizon’s and AT&T’s LTE networks.
Sources familiar with the development of the Apple tablet have provided claims regarding upcoming features. It is said that the tablet is set for a March 2012 release making it the first major product launch that the tech giant will have after Steve Jobs’ passing last year.
Reports have started proliferating about Apple supply contractors ramping up iPad 3 production since the start of January. Sources have implied that production has been surging up with people working nearly 24 hours a day. Numbers are expected to spike by February for a release on the following month.
Foxconn Technologies Group is the Cupertino firm’s main manufacturing partner for most of its products especially the iPhone and iPad line.
The iPad is Apple’s second biggest revenue earner right after their iPhone products. At present, the firm has seen 43 million units of its iPads sold which translates to a $25.3-billion in market sales.
