asus eee pad 300x300 iPad 3 Vs Asus Transformer Prime: Tablet PC Battle to Edge in 2012Although it’s not yet confirmed that the iPad 3 will be out in the first quarter of next year, it already has a competitor, the Asus Transformer Prime. The quad core Android tablet PC is rumored to have a much better display than the Apple third generation iPad.

Experts say that the Transformer Prime will also be sporting better cameras. Whether it’s true that the new Asus tablet is beefier than what Apple is currently putting together or not, the main question is if the Transformer can actually outsell the iPad 3.

Google Android is trying its best, analysts say but since it’s getting a rather big shift from 2 known platforms to one more powerful platform i.e. the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, it might not be able to fare well with the competition.

Apparently, Apple is still No.1 in the tablet PC market based on the millions of units it sold when the iPad 2 came out. In fact, statistics show that the American consumer electronics giant sold over 25 million iPad 2 units, a clear sign that a revolutionary new iPad from the company will be enjoying the popularity of its predecessors.

It is still a good idea to look into the Asus Transformer Prime though, experts say, as according to rumors the retina display of the third generation iPad may won’t be as successful as Apple anticipates.
