samsung galaxy s2a 300x270 iPhone 4S Success Likely to Delay iPhone 5 Release Date SignificantlyWhen the iPhone 4S was initially announced prior to its arrival, it had in the minds of fans and critics alike already been dubbed something of a disappointment, given the fact that the expectation had been that of an iPhone 5 with a bigger display and revolutionary specs.

Of course, there is no denying the fact that 4S is indeed incredibly similar to the iPhone 4 – almost identical in fact – but on the inside at least there are a few extra goodies to shout about. Indeed, the increased processing speed, improved camera and Siri voice control features are all highly revered – but with little else to distinguish it from the iPhone 4, is it really a big deal?

Well, the short answer is a resounding yes, as even to this very day there are still considerable queues snaking their ways outside Apple stores the world, with buyers hoping to snag a 4S before demand outstrips supply once again. The 4S has been a truly unstoppable, runaway success that none could have seen coming, especially Apple.

Unfortunately, depending on the way in which you look at it of course, the success of the iPhone 4S is likely to contribute directly and considerably to the delayed release of the iPhone 5, as Apple really have no reason to rush yet another device whatsoever. True, had the 4S been shunned or at least privy to a lukewarm reception the situation would be different, but while ever demand continues at such a rate, the best advice is not to hold out hope for an iPhone 5 release date in the very near future to say the least.
