Needless to say, the deal would be a rather lucrative one, with whispers of a $1.1 billion contract being heard.

Industry insiders broke the news by suggesting that the next generation of the iPhone next year will feature a screen size of at least 4 inches, though the resolution will remain the same so as to keep costs and production demands realistic.

Furthermore, the same sources have made new claims that a smaller version of the iPad is also well and truly in the works, with the next tablet PC to follow sporting a 7.35 inch display. Indeed, the smaller iPad is said to be the key focus of an upcoming meeting between Apple and LG, set to take place in the next few days.

Samsung on the other hand is currently in the planning stages with regard to development of the A6 processor, which is to power both the upcoming iPhone 5 and the iPad 3, when and where their release dates finally come about. Samsung appears to have every intention of becoming the main parts supplier for Apple until at least the year 2014.
