iPhone 5 Cases for Sale Suggest Larger Screen
Unofficial cases have already been made available for the fabled iPhone 5, suggesting that the elusive device will boast a 4 inch screen and be noticeably thinner than the current model.
The new cases would seem to validate and back a number rumors circulating for quite some time now, which have pointed to a larger screen of some description for the iPhone 5. Furthermore, rumors from last week would also be quashed that the screen size was to remain the same, though appear bigger due to a smaller overall unit.
According to a number of observers, the cases in question appear to be designed for an iPhone that is in fact slightly longer and wider than initially expected, measuring in at around 4.7 inches by 2.6 inches. The new cases are also designed for the tapered finish, which is another long-standing rumor regarding the iPhone 5.
Needless to say, most Apple devotees would gladly accept a slightly larger iPhone 5, should this mean they can also benefit from an improved screen size. On the other hand, there are those who have claimed devices with screens of 4 inches and over can feel a little cumbersome and almost knocking on the door of the tablet world, but given the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and its enormous 4.2 inch Super AMOLED, such cries appear to represent the minority.
