samsung galaxy s 2 hardware 300x168 iPhone 5 Release Date Clues From Sprint’s Galaxy S2 Sales PolicyAnother clue to the release date of the iPhone 5 being imminent is Sprint’s(NYSE:S) change in return policy for the new Samsung Galaxy S2 android based phone.  The policy had been that the Galaxy S2 could be returned within 30 days.  Now customers only have 14 days to decide about returning the phone.  This change in Sprint policy lends credibility to the rumors that Sprint will indeed be carrying the iPhone 5 when it is released later this year and that the timing may be quite imminent.  It also appears that Sprint is expecting a shift from the android based phones to the iPhone.

The Galaxy S2 is comparable to the iPhone.  But there has been some evidence that the android platform has not seen huge customer satisfaction and that some may switch to the new iPhone 5 when the opportunity presents itself.

Sprint has left clues in the past weeks that they will be carrying the iPhone 5.  There has been some activity near current Apple retailers by Sprint to ensure that customers trying out the iPhone 5 will have good coverage at the retail outlets.  Best Buy has evidence for a Sprint iPhone 5 starting in October.  Also management at Sprint has talked about profit margins within the iPhone arena.  There should be more concrete evidence in the weeks to come regarding the Galaxy S2 and iPhone 5.
