Managed to slow down oil leakage
On Thursday it managed to slow down the biggest American oil catastrophe that caused oil spill in the deep sea.
The first and yet officially unconfirmed news reported that it managed to stop oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. On Thursday morning Thad Allen, the commander of US coast guard yet expressed to New Orleans Radio that BP’s efforts was successful to plug the hole of the damaged deep-sea oil well.
Now the disaster management commander added: it’s not possible to declare that they managed to completely suppress crude oil spill. BP hasn’t commented on it yet, saying they haven’t finished the work yet. The latest news say the oil is still flowing from the damaged well, although at much lower intensity.
US president, Barack Obama on Thursday afternoon said on a press conference, that it’s not guaranteed that the operation to plug the oil well will succeed.
CNN has broadcasted a live coverage of the deep sea during the president’s press conference. By the pictures, the leakage hasn’t stopped, but it’s intensity dropped. An oil industry expert stated: the liquid which coming out from the structure has changed, it’s light brown color refers to that it’s mixing with mud. He said the good news at the moment that there isn’t bad news. The more time they can pump the mud inside, the more chance they have to suppress the leakage. According to the experts, it’s clearly didn’t manage to overcome yet the oil and gas pressure using the heavy mud.
