Mercedes Benz F125 Unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show
The new gull-wing F125 by Mercedes Benz was recently unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and caused quite a stir to say the least. The name of the new vehicle was inspired by the fact that the manufacturer is celebrating its 125th anniversary, with the car itself displaying the style plans for the future of the brand. Most importantly of all, the car will allegedly be powered by hydrogen, which further demonstrates the commitment of Mercedes Benz to developing the new technology.
Range-wise, the F125 is expected to be able to cover 1,000 KM with its plug in technology and fuel cell drive system.
Each of the four wheels of the F125 will have its own electric motor which is run by the hydrogen and electric power system of the vehicle, which when combined will offer an average power of 231BHP with peak output of 313BHP.
It has been stated that the F125 will be able to reach speeds of 0 to 100 KPH in around 4.9 seconds, going on to a top speed of 220 KPH.
Additional features include the information and entertainment system, which can be operated by using both hand and touch gestures along with full voice control. The centerpiece of the internal tech showcase will be the auto-stereoscopic 3D display, along with touchpad and 3D finger tracking using project beam technology.
