Nextpoint introduces new document viewer

Filed under: Science,The Big Stories |

Nextpoint, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of next-generation litigation support services to law firms and corporate law departments, announces new scrolling/zooming functionality upgrades to the document viewer in its Discovery Cloud and Trial Cloud applications.

Nextpoint’s Discovery Cloud and Trial Cloud are an effective, cost-efficient platform for managing large volumes of evidence for civil litigation—including depositions, transcripts, e-mail and other electronically stored information (ESI)—in a single, integrated environment. The company has enhanced the platform’s document viewer with the addition of next-generation navigation features, including real-time zooming and scrolling.

“Documents can be thousands of pages long and consist of imaged pages making document sizes quite large. They vary in resolution and range in quality from poorly scanned images to rich graphical diagrams. Because many of the documents contain poor quality images, we also implemented a zoom feature, which leverages our Theater document presentation tool to expand images on the fly. And finally, as always, it needs to be fast when scanning or following search hits throughout the documents,” stated Ben Wolf, Vice President of R&D at Nextpoint.

Some of the benefits of using the document viewer in Trial Cloud for your next case:
•   On-the-

fly scrolling within document view across multiple pages
•   Real-time zooming within document for enhanced viewing of low-res images
•   Same speedy delivery of documents to viewer via our proven search functionality

Nextpoint CEO Rakesh Madhava added, “There isn’t another company in the legal technology industry with more recognized innovations in the Web 2.0 and cloud computing fields. Our patent-pending technology is a true differentiator, and our customers are seeing the immediate, tangible benefits of these next-generation technologies in their legal practice and their bottom line.”

The company’s innovation is featured in an April 26, 2010 post at Ajaxian.com, which can be found at this link: http://ajaxian.com/archives/scrollin-scrollin-scrollin-t …. Publication by Ajaxion.com (a leading web programming blog), and recognizes the Nextpoint Technology Lab’s continuing innovations—not only in the legal industry, but in web-based technology in general.
