google nexus prime 146x146 Nexus Prime Spec Update ReveledToday marks a very busy day for the Google Nexus Prime, having been all over the headlines no less than twice. Only hours ago, a number of the specifications for the new Nexus were revealed to the world by a so-called trusted source, though it now appear that they may have in fact been completely misinformed.

A noted tipster who is said to be close to the inner workings of Google has made suggestions which may finally put rumored specs and leaks to sleep. Needless to say, even the rumors sourced from the highest level must be accompanied by the usual pinch of salt, with this example being highly credited, but essentially no different.

According to the source, the new Nexus Prime is to sport a blazing dual-core 1.5GHz processor, upon which will reside a dual-core GPU fro Imagination – which is of course the same as found in the iPad 2 and most likely in the iPhone 4S as well.

An 8 megapixel camera is to grace the back of the device with full 1080p HD video shooting, while a massive 2050mAh battery will keep everything working nicely for at least a couple of days.

LTE capability will also be included, as will a dual-mode GSM/CDMA radio as can be found in the iPhone 4S.

Couple all these specs with the widely expected 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen and the package almost begins to sound too good to be true, but bearing in mind the way in which the launch event is being pegged by the joint companies as something ‘BIG’ it would not be surprising at all if all such spec suggestions turned out to be true.
