Nonetheless, Samsung is expected to unveil several new products at MWC 2012, but none on the level of the forthcoming Galaxy S3 smartphone.
Previously, it was speculated that the Galaxy S3 would be unveiled at MWC, however Samsung recently scotched these rumors and is now planning to preview the new handset in a separate event a few months from now. That said, it looks like the South Korean electronics manufacturer might be taking a comparatively austere approach to this year’s edition of the MWC.
What many are expecting from Samsung now is a newer, slightly larger tablet than their existing Galaxy Tab. This new slate is expected to be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 5250 chipset and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and feature an 11.6-inch screen.
Apart from these three key features, the new tablet may boast of incredible resolution (2560 x 1600) that could give the iPad a run for its money. Also, a new OS called Tizen may be unveiled in the event. This forthcoming OS is Linux-based and a take-off from last year’s Bada platform.
Those present at MWC 2011 are sure to recall Samsung’s exciting presentations to commemorate the launch of the Galaxy S2 smartphone and Bada operating system. Once we check out the action in Barcelona come February 26 to March 1, we will keep you posted on the latest Samsung scoop and give you to-the-minute feedback on their MWC 2012 offerings.
