Nokia Showcases Lumia 900 Smartphone for the North American Market
Nokia has finally taken to public their official bid to the North American smartphone market. Executives from Nokia presented the Lumia 900 smartphone at the recent Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas.
The Nokia Lumia 900 is expected to be the Finnish manufacturer’s banner product once it finally joins in on the high-end smartphone competition. The phone comprises of a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen and Carl Zeiss optics – a usual fixture in Nokia phones.
It is worth noting that above all else, Nokia executives were more than enthused in pushing the phone’s camera as its finest feature. The camera holds a 28-millimeter focal length which allows phone captures to pack in more details than any other.
Apart from such specs, Nokia noted that the phone will carry on their tradition of incorporating polycarbonate as its main make-up. The Lumia 900 phone will be available in black and blue variants.
Being the highest seller of Windows phones in the country, AT&T is hopeful that the Nokia Lumia 900 will do good business once it’s released.
“Nokia is going to be back in the U.S. in a very big way,” said Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.
Gartner researches have seen that both Microsoft and Nokia are facing declining market numbers. Microsoft dwindled to 1.5% while Nokia – although still one of the bigger forces – has seen a steady drop in worldwide smartphone sales.
With the Lumia 900, Nokia is hopeful to make a comeback in the US market since falling out of it years back. After all, along with HTC, they are said to be the first manufacturers of Windows LTE phones for the market.
