Obama seeks 205 million dollars aid to support Israelian rocket defense
US President Barack Obama asked the Congress to lift a $205 million dollars aid in order to accelerate the preparation and deployment of Israelian rocket defense – said the White House.
The missile defense system is going to protect Israel from incidental strikes of lebanonian Hezbollah palestinian Hamas.
The rocket system called Iron Dome -which was produced by the Israelian government-owned Rafael armament research and development company – contains small radar controlled missiles which are capable to destroy missiles betegen the range of five and seventy kilometers as well as mortar grenades.
„Seeing the threat of Hamas’s and Hezbollah’s rockets, the President has decided to ask the Congress to provide financial aid for manufacturing the Iron Dome missile defense system – White House spokesman Tommy Vietor declared.
According to US State Department’s datas Israel received $2,55 billion military aid from the United States in 2009.
