Oil spill approaches Florida

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico reached Mississippi and Alabama and now it approaches Florida’s shores – CBS News American television reported on Wednesday.

Following the most polluted Louisana area – where more than 200 kilometers of coastline is covered in oil – now the patch has appeard near the borders of Mississippi and Alabama.

Approximately 3 miles long and 90 centimeters wide, sticky patch covered the Petit Bois Island. In Alabama, at the entrance of the Mobile Bay a reddish-brown spot appeared, where tar pieces were found three weeks ago.

The oil spill may reach Florida’s white sand at the weekend: oil spot was found just 14 kilometers away from the famous Pensacola holiday resort.
