amazon kindle fire 1 300x205 Rival Comparison: iPad 2 Vs Amazon Kindle Fire Vs Nook Tablet The tablet PC section in technology stores all across the country is set to look rather different this holiday season, moving away from the Apple-exclusivity we have come to know and expect. Indeed, while the iPad and iPad 2 may still rule the roost across the board and generate truly biblical sales, there are a couple of newcomers set to make their own attempts at grabbing a little of the limelight with analysts expecting they are on course to do exactly that.

This week sees the release of both the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Barnes & Nobel Nook Tablet, which retail for $199 and $249 respectively and are said to offer around 80% of the same functionality expected from the Apple powerhouse. That being said, there are of course marked differences between all three options which means there are ideal products out there for each and every buyer, begging the question of which option for which person?

Well, the answer comes rather simply by way of whether you’re looking for a small or large tablet, how much you’re willing to pay and whether you value marginally higher specs over level of content available. The iPad 2 of course takes the gold for specs, size and general prowess, but requires an investment of at least $500 for the privilege. The Nook Table slightly edges ahead of the Kindle by way of storage space and battery life, but loses ground in relation to app availability and so on.

The good news is that there really is nothing even close to a wrong decision that can be made in relation to any of the three tablets, therefore the best advice is to give all three a full and frank hands-on inspection and opt for any that ticks all the right boxes.
