Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Release Date – Temporary Exclusivity on AT&T?

galaxy nexus t mobileusa 300x193 Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Release Date – Temporary Exclusivity on AT&T?Is Verizon Wireless set to take the title of exclusive provider of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for the remainder of the year? Perhaps, depending on how the official specs page for the Nexus is interpreted by the beady eye of the observer.

As is stands, rumor has it that other carriers the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile are well and truly in line to offer the highly coveted device on their own networks – suggestions based on the recently released FCC document hinting the possibility of AWS friendly bands. Of course, this coupled with the removal of the ‘exclusive’ moniker from the Verizon Wireless website itself pretty much served as the smoking gun many were looking for.

However, the official Google spec page for the Nexus is still hinting toward at least limited exclusivity, while other carriers now seem likely to follow suit next year with their own HSPA+ models – similar to that being offered in the UK.

That being said, it may be worth noting that the Google product page in no way displays the 4G LTE logo used by Verizon.

The surprise UK launch of the Galaxy Nexus came without so much as a mention or a hint as to the official plans for the US, which is of course incredibly unusual for a product of such a caliber. As of now, the very best estimates for a US release date of the Nexus are centered around the first week of December, though a number of less optimistic observers are already stirring up whispers of early 2012.
