Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date Confirmed for UK
Samsung has made an official announcement stating that the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus will indeed arrive in UK stores beginning this very week, specifically November 17th. Needless to say, this fully contradicts the rumors doing the rounds and indeed an Amazon product page, which had the device as not landing until at least next month, with many estimates having concluded December 2nd as the long-awaited release date.
For the US market, the new Galaxy Nexus will be available via the Verizon Wireless network using the carrier’s 4G LTE technology, while UK and European markets will be receiving the HSPA+ model.
Unfortunately, neither Verizon nor Samsung have yet confirmed exactly when the Nexus will see its launch on US soil, though all realistic estimates are certain the launch will take place before the end of the month.
Spec-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is already attracting massive attention ahead of its launch, due to its advanced 4.65 inch touchscreen with resolution on par with the Apple iPhone 4S, its mighty 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of dedicated RAM.
Of course, the real main event comes by way of software included in the Nexus, which is set to be the first device in the world to operate courtesy of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Early indications are of a truly revolutionary new version of the already hugely popular platform, which according to the developers looks set to change the face of mobile technology once and for all.
