htc amaze big 200x300 Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket for AT&T LTE NetworkLoyal devotees of the AT&T network looking to take hold of a next-generation LTE device have recently had their options opened up rather excitingly, by way of the titanic Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket – the new handle being assumed as a reference to the speed the device is capable of on the impressive LTE network.

In terms of the cold, hard spec-sheet, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket sports a might 1.5GHz dual-core processor backed up by 1GB of dedicated RAM, which is of course a significant step up from the standard S2 which packs a ‘modest’ 1.2GHz dual-core chip. The Super AMOLED Plus screen size will also be bumped up from 4.3 inches to 4.5 inches, using the same 800 x 400 resolution.

The rest of the sheet remains almost identical to that of the other S2 units currently doing the proverbial rounds, including a stunning 8 megapixel camera, 1080p HD video recording 16GB of onboard storage and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread running the show. Those interested in taking home what is arguably the device of the year can expect to pay AT&T $249 for the privilege, alongside the usual two year service agreement.

While it had been largely predicted that the latest release from Apple would have every potential of wiping the floor with the S2 from Samsung, the success of the iPhone 4S has in no way impacted the global reverence of the flagship Samsung model, which continues to smash records and gather awards across various corners of the world.
