Samsung Stratosphere to Launch First LTE Device with full QWERTY Keyboard

samsung logo big blue Samsung Stratosphere to Launch First LTE Device with full QWERTY KeyboardSamsung is once again trying to make the idea of the slide-out QWERTY keyboard stylish again, according to the latest images to hit the web. The new pictures display the latest creation from the Korean manufacturer, known as the Samsung Stratosphere. With a design rather akin to the T-Mobile Sidekick line, the Stratosphere appears to be a full touchscreen Smartphone with a fully functional slide-out keyboard situated underneath.

Likely to be marketed at the crowd that still is not exactly comfortable with exclusively touchscreen devices, the Samsung Stratophere is to be shipped with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and 2GB of internal storage – not to mention the top on the line Super AOLED Plus screen.

However, the most impotent and enticing spec of them all is the fact that the Stratosphere is set to run on the Verizon 4G LTE network, which is ranked as the fastest in the US today. This would make the Stratosphere the very first LTE Smartphone to offer a full QWERTY keyboard.

It was Apple who first pioneered the notion of a Smartphone with no physical buttons, which is something most major manufacturers have since followed suit. That being said, many consumers are still not entirely convinced with the whole full-touchscreen concept, resulting in continued high demand for QWERTY keyboard options. Needless to say, the one downside that comes with such inclusions is additional weight and an inherently bulkier unit as a whole.

Official release date details and pricing options are yet to be made public, though it has been suggested that the Stratosphere could be landing as early as later this week.
