Sony: serious losses and increasing PS3 sales
Recently Sony has brought into daylight the last year’s financial results, which showed that they suffered big losses which wounds are not fatal but still painful for the company.
In the last fiscal year Sony posted a 10 percent fall in total revenues, therefore the company lost 890 million dollars from the budget which is a total amount of 164 billion dollars. So itself the amount that Sony lost is big but comparing to their total budget it’s nothing serious. Bigger pot, bigger loss, as it use to be.
Besides financial informations Sony also made public his hardware sales statistics. According to datas, Playstation 3 is getting more and more sales even despite the recession the company managed to sell 13 million pieces of PS3 worldwide, which is a 3 million growth in sales compared to last year. The sales of Sony’s portable machine and PS2 are both going well, however it’s clear that the demand for PS2 has significantly reduced.
