Sprint iPad 2 Signals no iPad 3 for 2011
The likelihood of the Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 2 landing side by side in the very near future is beginning to look ever bleaker by the day, but that is not to say that there will not be an Apple product launch coming our way anyway. Quite the opposite in fact, as Apple’s new partner, that being the Sprint network, is set to launch its own iPad 2 into the market instead.
Needless to say, if the iPad 3’s arrival was in any way close, there would be no way on Earth the carrier would be unwilling to wait a little longer for the newer model.
The new report follows months of wondering exactly what Apple had up their sleeves, if anything at all that is, with most speculating that a release of the iPad 3 before the holiday season was a dead cert. As it now stands, it is a pretty safe bet that the iPhone 5 will be arriving alone this year, breaking the standard product refresh cycle of the manufacturer in spectacular style.
While a year would have usually been expected before a new iPad would have been introduced, there has been reason to think a seven-month or so period would have been more than long enough in the current climate. Of course, the elimination of the prospect of a 2011 iPad 3 in no was discounts the idea of an upgraded second generation model – perhaps in the form of the iPad 2S.
On which note of course, it is back to the rumor mill…
