The Galaxy Nexus was rumoured to be released on Thursday, December 15th. However, it still remains to be seen if it will ever come around what with its supposed launch just around the corner.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE is considered as the first of its breed. It is the first Android phone running on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform. It is also the first Galaxy Nexus phone sporting LTE support and HD touch screen.

It appears that Verizon is still contemplating about the product’s launch with the rumour going about Google providing the cause to such delay. Rumours stipulated that Verizon is blocking Google Wallet to be implemented in its own Galaxy Nexus LTE. It is hinted that Verizon is still on the verge of straightening out issues regarding the “purse”.

Google has made a statement regarding this matter and stated, “Verizon asked us not to include this functionality in the product.”

Verizon retorts that it’s not because they don’t want it on their phones for any particular reason. They believe that it’s not yet the appropriate time for it, but, is sure to implement it on a better proprietary hardware.

On a different note, it’s also said that other phone carriers are eyeing the first Galaxy Nexus Long Term Evolution variant. AT&T is said to have scouted its patrons should they think that an AT&T Nexus is favourable to them.
