Verizon Launches BlackBerry Torch 9850 and Motorola Droid Bionic Side by Side
Verizon is set to offer their loyal devotees something of a surprise, by officially launching the new BlackBerry Torch 9850 as of right now. The new powerhouse from RIM is pegged to go head to head with the Motorola Droid Bionic, which is another incredibly powerful LTE Smartphone going on sale at exactly the same time.
The new Torch 9850 with the largest screen to feature on any BlackBerry device to date has sneaked into the running somewhat unnoticed, given the fact that the vast majority of all attention has been focused squarely on the Motorola Droid Bionic. Analysts and RIM themselves have proclaimed the new Torch to be quite simply their best BlackBerry to date, bringing the company back in line with the other key players leading the market today.
With regard to which will come out on top, it may be unfair to offer a direct comparison as their target markets may well be rather different – the BlackBerry likely to appeal to business users while the Droid Bionic will be favored by those interested in power and specs across the board.
Although RIM saw share prices tumble to dangerous lows a number of months ago, the launch of no less than seven new devices is predicted to begin repairing the damage over the coming months.
