Verizon Wireless Confirms Intentions for Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Verizon Wireless has become the first carrier in the US to announce and officially confirm that it is to offer the Samsung Nexus Prime / Droid Prime upon its release. In a recent press releases, Verizon gave few specific details, though confirmed that the highly anticipated device will be available for purchase later this year. If the rumor-mill is anything to go by, the new Nexus will be ready to ship from the early to mid-stage of November, attaching a price of approximately $300.
Needless to say, the next generation of the Nexus lineup has been the talk of the town for quite some time now, adding to up to quite the list of rumored specs and goodies. First and foremost, it is pretty much common knowledge at this stage that the Nexus will be the very first handset in the world to boast Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its OS – which is of course reason enough for a few sleepless nights in its own rights.
Alongside the software, the Nexus Prime is also pegged as being the first to offer a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, along with a mighty 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM to back everything up just nicely. The ability to connect to 4G LTE and 3G opens up appeal even further, as does the fact that this so-called ‘pure Google’ device will be fully optimized to receive Android updates and tweaks automatically and the very second they come to be.
