Walmart, Toys ‘R’ Us Announce Early Black Friday Opening
Be warned Walmart, as Toys ‘R’ Us just took a one hour lead…
The toy retailing giant recently become the latest in an ever-growing list of businesses to up the ante ahead of the holiday shopping frenzy, making the announcement that most stores will now open at 9pm instead of the usual 10pm on Thanksgiving night, prior to Black Friday morning. Toys ‘R’ Us have also released their official Black Friday ad, detailing deals the likes of a Huffy convertible tricycle for $49.99 and Razor scooters for $19.99.
Adults are also once again rather well catered for, with the Sylvania 7 inch tablet PC up for grabs at $74.99, while all iPod touch devices will come with a free $50 gift card.
As it stands, unless another major retailer has something rather last-minute planned out already, Toys ‘R’ Us will once again be the earliest Black Friday opener across the US.
The extra hour could of course make a quite massive impact on overall sales, with official estimates stating that over 22.3 million shoppers last year made the most of deals either online or in stores in 2010, which is almost double the number recorded five years previously. As consumer spending in a general sense has decline significantly, it seems more American than ever are on the lookout for a true bargain, making Black Friday nothing less than a goldmine.
